I used to get my Bluestreaks from Roger Kraus Racing http://www.rogerkrausracing.com/
They were always very helpful and should be able to provide you with answers to your questions.
I'm pretty certain that the Bluestreaks are cross-ply not radial.

Thanks for the links!

I have sent them some e-mail, hope they take the time to answer.

I see on this page that the 8" bluestreak is used up front.... what gives the same visual effect when people use metric size's?

How is a cross-ply to drive?

Hi Jon,
They have a little more "give" than a modern low-profile tyre and you need to get the presures right, but on the whole, they work very well and they REALLY stick to the road. They're even pretty good in the wet.
The only downside is they don't tend to last too long. Also, I would recommend lifting the car off the floor if you are going to leave it for extended periods ie over winter. Otherwise the rubber creeps and you end up with flats where it has been standing .

I thought they quit making these tires? Maybe I am thinking of the grooved trans am race tires that some have run on the street.

I have a set for sale. has few hundred miles on them. NO TRACK or BURNOUT time on them. Lettering have been detailed and they are like new....

I paid close to $1100.00 for them when I bought them from ROger Krouse. I wouldn't mind selling them for $850.00 including shipping!

Great tires for traction. Very soft compund. they ride like hell, they stick like hell. They are like street sweepers. they pick up everything.
Don't even think about them, unless you are planning on putting them to good use on the track or want toshow your car off at a car show.
As for daily driver, you are better off running on your rims alone.

Thanks for great tips, Paul!

Turk, what sizes are yours?

Best regards
Jon

In another thread on this web site, Russ R wrote this:

Sorry I didn't get back to you earlier, Kevin...
I use the "Vintage Blue Streaks" at the track- nice and sticky, but aren't (quite) full-blown slicks, in other words they have "chicken scratches" on them.
I run:
"Firm" #3002's, 6.00-15's (8.4" actual width) up front, and
"Firm" #3050's, 8.00-15's (10.1" actual width) in the rear.

Don't be fooled- these aren't "firm" in any sense other than they'll last several season's worth of open track sessions.
I get rubbing on the rear, but that's because I have soft springs and 289 FIA fenders!
Soon to be remedied!

Russ R
**************************

What does he mean by actual width... are these wheels that bulbous?
Could this be a effect of a wide rim? If I say put the 6" tire on a 6" rim would this pull in the sides somewhat..?

Best regards

Turk,

Your tires for sale - are they treaded or slicks? Have a picture? I'd like to see the lettering detail.

Hey Turk!

Why is the blue line missing on your tires?
I desperately need the blue line...
