early models are adjustable, at least my 156 is...same procedure as the rear using a spanner wrench and adjusting the collar after the allen set screw is loosened. correct ht should be 27" from level surface to mid section bottom side/lower edge fender lip area. i dropped mine down to 26-1/2" front and rear with no problems with tires or bottoming out, although i have only 3-1/2" below the bellhousing...but aint hit anything yet, just have to dodge road kill . some folks adjust them to be even left to right allowing for drivers weight to be in the car. bill .
