Adjusting Ride Height on an SPF

Is it possible to adjust the ride height of the FRONT end of an SPF? is it the same procedure as the rear?

I might depend on what year your SPF was built as the early models might not be adjustable but I'm not sure about that. The late cars come with coil over Bilsteen's which are adjustable by the ride height ring(s) (screwing up/down causes ring to alter ride height) and would be the same for both front and rear.

early models are adjustable, at least my 156 is...same procedure as the rear using a spanner wrench and adjusting the collar after the allen set screw is loosened. correct ht should be 27" from level surface to mid section bottom side/lower edge fender lip area. i dropped mine down to 26-1/2" front and rear with no problems with tires or bottoming out, although i have only 3-1/2" below the bellhousing...but aint hit anything yet, just have to dodge road kill . some folks adjust them to be even left to right allowing for drivers weight to be in the car. bill .

Yes, they are all adjustable. Earlier SPF's can't go quite as low in the front as newer ones, they just run out of adjustement room sooner (when lowering the front) with the old AVO's compared to the Bilstein's.

FYI: Not knowing what tires you are using The following may apply:

275/60/15 (rears) and 255/60/15 (fronts) tires on a superformance should be adjusted to 27" from the ground through the center of the wheel and to the middle of the body wheel opening. Like Bill Wells said (hello Bill).

17 inch wheels should not be adjused any lower than 26" with a caveat - if your using 335/30/17 tires on the rear they may rub on the inner body wheel well if you get it close to 26". 26.5" may be more appropriate.

good point on tire sizes, i should have mentioned in my earlier post that i have 255s front and 275s rear with no rubbing at 26.5 inches. 295s or 305s in the rear might rub on mine. bill
