Recurving a distributor

Guys...

What all is involved in recurving a distributor? I've been doing some research on tuning my Demon carb....which I think will involve upping the initial timing by about 6 degrees....this in turn will increase the total by 6.....but the total needs increased 2....so I'm gonna overshoot the total by 4 degrees.

It's an MSD dizzy.....

Does MSD do this? How much do they usually charge?

You can buy the MSD kit ( at local speed shop) that has all the springs and stop bushings in it. Also go to their web site and it gives you all the info on curving. I set my initial at 14 then the total at 32. So I had to put a bigger stop bushing in it. The stop bushings range from like 18 to 28 degrees. When I got my car the total timming was going aleast to 40. It is a little tricky getting the stop bushing in with the dist in, but I got it done. www.msdignition.com

I bought the spring kit a year or so back....I guess I have the bushings too.

If you look in the little bag, it should have like 4 in there. Black, red, silver, blue. Then on the web site it has detailed pitures of how to install them.
