Default Glisten PC...POR-15's clear coat

Just thumbing through the POR-15 catalog when I spotted a clear coat for polished aluminum, chrome, etc.. The example they use is removing the yellowed clearcoat off old factory aluminum wheels, and re-applying a factory type clear coat.

I was wondering if anyone is familiar with Glisten PC, and can you offer any comments about it? Sounds almost too good to be true, but if it doesnt do what it says it does, it would I guess be easier in the long run to just break out the polishing compound once every few months or so. Any info, suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Greg

Greg,

I used Glisten PC on most of the aluminum under the hood on my Cobra.
I did the intake, polished valve covers, heads, and many polished aluminum brackets I fabricated.

It is easy to apply, a good brush works just as well as spraying. Brush strokes just melt away as it cures.

It is tough and impervious to oil and gasoline.
It has held up great. I finished the car in 2000 and in 1700 miles the only place it has discolored is the aluminum heads exhaust port area, just above the header flange. Even there it hasen't peeled, just turned a brownish color.

I highly recommend it.

Thanks for the response. It must be some pretty durable stuff to put it on the intake, heads, etc. I was thinking about using it on water pump, valve covers, air cleaner, and eventually the footbox and firewall aluminum panels, so im assuming it would work great on those then. Pretty impressive to have it last like that on your heads and intake!
