Steering Column Woes

Anyone out there have any technical specs for the necessary height (From the floor) and overall length from the firewall for the steering column and wheel assembly?

After installing my column and wheel it seems like I have little legroom to slide in and out, or to operate the pedals. I don't know if I should try a smaller wheel (I have a 15" Motolita) or perhaps another column (I currently have a MGB early column).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

351-EM,

I am currently installing a simular if not same column. The column I have is 1 7/8 diameter with a 7/8 inner shaft 48 spline. Is this the same column you have?

I have an E-M that I'm just finishing, and leg room is very tight in mine also. I guess it's just how it's made.

I think all Cobra's are limited on leg room. Is there a Cobra out there that has more leg room ?

More? Not sure about the EM car dimentions but many companies have modified the original design to allow for taller drivers.
