Inner Axle Seals?
I have a 9" Ford Coleman rear axle that came on my car which was purchased as a roller. It was leaking gear oil at the left wheel and drooling down the tire. When I pulled the drive plate and hub I found the bearings completely washed of grease by the gear oil. Apparently, there is supposed to be a tube seal on these and it wasn't installed so the gear oil from the differential was traveling out to the bearings and seal. I bought two triple seals from Coleman for the tubes but they don't come with installation instructions so now I need to know how to install these things.
They are billet aluminum, about 2.5" long with 3 neoprene rubber seals sandwiched between alum. sections. Do they go in from the 3rd member end of the tube or the drive hub end? What keeps them from spinning with the axle since the fit is going to be tight?
Anyone have experience with these?
Thanks.
