fuel gage vs: fuel cell

Can fuel gages be semi accurate when using a fuel cell? I have a Fuel Safe cell and the gage when full is slightly above 1/4 and when empty is slightly below 1/4. Really usefull. I was told that the sending unit on the top of the cell container can be "tweeked" so it will show accurate readings. True or False? I would really appreciate most any input.

I run a fuel gauge sender in my fuel cell with no problem. As the fuel cell is filled with foam for safety, the sender probe is a long tube rather than a float used in ordinary fuel tanks. You also need to have a sender that is matched with your guage electrically (for example, 240 ohms empty, 33 ohms full).

The Centroid sender I installed is dead on. However I have a 289. Its gas tank is way different than an original style 427. A 427 tank is so weirdly shaped and installed that I wonder if any sender would work well.
