Where is the best place to mount an electric fuel pump. The one on the car I recently purchased hangs below the chasis, don't like it there and would like to relocate it. Also which brand is the quietest? On a 1990 block are you able to use a high volumn mechanical pump? Thanks, Hall

Best place to mount an electrical fuel pump is as close as possible to the fuel tank, with a high flow fuel filter between the pump and the gas tank. Electric pumps are best pushing fuel instead of pulling fuel. My Holley blue pump was originally mounted to the rear frame piece slightly below the frame on my SPF. I really didn't like it being exposed like that. I had a conversion done that required removing the gas tank and welding a bracket onto the frame for a new and improved placement of the pump. I sold my very noisy Holley pump for a Carter HP 100 gph. It's a little quieter. I've read about some other pump manufacturers advertising quiet pumps like Edelbrock Quiet Flo that also uses a rubber insulated mounting bracket. They are using a gerotor style vane. I'm not quite sure what you are referring to in a 1990 block and a mechanical pump. Just keep in mind that the higher the HP your motor makes, the more critical fuel delivery (flow and pressure) is.
