I Gotta Have One!!!
I've been insuring these things for years and can't stand just looking at bad ass pics anymore... I GOTTA HAVE ONE!!! I think I've looked at about every kit manufacturer's website until I'm cross-eyed. Can anyone out there give me some ideas on different kits to help narrow my decision? Thanks

There is a zipped Excel file on another thread with manufacturers names, web sites/tel numbers and body styles.
Good luck on your search. There are literally hundreds of threads on this subject.

What do you want? A roller already assembled or a kit to builld? Or do you want a use cobra. Check out the 4sale forum on this site, cobracountry.com or carsonline.com under shelby for used cobras. If you want a roller, then Superformance if a good choice. If your building a kit, there are a lot to check out. The one I would consider is Hurricane. They will provide a kit in various stages of completion. See the bottom left side of this forum for the link to their site. After you figure this out - then you can start all over trying to deciede on the right motor and trans, but that should be easy. A Keith Craft motor and a tremec 600 trans.
By the way, what insurance company ?? Maybe we can get a discount??
Good Luck

A roller...partially assembled. Of all the manufacturers, I was leaning towards a Superformance. A friend of mine has a Backdraft and is a great car, but I guess their only turn key. I'll check out Hurricane as well. Thanks a bunch.

Just noticed the insurance question....Voyager Insurance Services,Inc. dba voyagermarine.com & classicautoquote.com. I write my classics with American Modern Home, Hagerty, Grundy, and Infinity/Great American. It would be nice to have a company put a program together for Club Cobra members so they would receive an afinity credit based on membership. I'll check into it. Thanks again.

Our Backdrafts our just like Superformance, they are sold as a "roller", you can also buy them as a full turnkey through a dealer/engine installer.
On the insurance there are a number of agents and companies that focus on this growing market.
Shoot me an email with what you are looking for. With the current special of free upgrade to 17" knock off wheels on a roller, there's not many other choices that can beat it for the overall value.

You should really consider this car. I'm personally familiar with it, it's well sorted out, and is from arguably the oldest Cobra replica manufacturer (since 1977) still in business.
It is a steal at this price, considering the engine and how it is equipped.

I have a Factory Five for sale which is done. It is as close to original looking as you can get. It has a 390 bored 40 over, dual quads and puts out 412 hp/400 tq. It has knock offs and is solid British Racing green. MY email is Pander2424@aol.com I would be glad to send some pics to you if you might be interested.

I would also check into a Kirkham. For the money other's will cost you can have one of theirs for about the same amount. I have built a non donor FFR and am currently starting to build my Kirkham.
Call Dave or Thomas they will be happy to help.
