Default Oil Cooler hook up

Has anyone hooked up their oil cooler on a SPF 351W ? How does one do it.? What are the hose sizes? Any help is most appreciated. Thanks

Hope this will get you started, no specific engine applied. The hose sizes I have heard discussed are almost always 10 AN or 12 AN. Usually when a size 8AN is mentioned many opinions claim it to be too small.

That diagram is for an FE.

And who took a photo from the ERA site and posted it to the ClubCobra archive? Did I give permission? (It's possible, but I don't remember, and it's nice to get some credit for my work...)

I copied the drawing off of the CC website over 2 years ago for my own reference. I didn't realize we needed permission to try to help out a fellow member asking for some assistance.
So now you have have your recognition.

Yes, I'm serious. When you copy someone's work from a commercial site, you should at least give a reference to that site.
IMHO...

I have probably used references from ERA alot in the past not realizing that it is proper to mention where it's from. That's what you get for having a truely incredible website. Thanks for mentioning the protocol.

The diagram was originaly posted on CLUBCOBRA.
I reposted it on the same sight I found it on.
Find the original poster and rag at them, (because its such a big deal)
Your implication that the drawing was lifted improperly is bs.
If you are going to get in a twist over the friggin' diagram... copyright it, restrict its usage, but save the whining.

If you are that worried about not getting credit for your diagram why don't you add your name or web link to the bottom like all the porn sites do with their pictures. This way if it is viewed people will frequent your web site to purchase equipment.

As for me, you just turned me off to your products and I will not buy from you because I think it is poor taste to worry about such trivial things. My first impression of you is you are just out to make a buck IMHO. You probably made the picture to help people sort out their oil cooler problems to bad you can't keep it that way and are instead worried about such petty things.

Informing someone of a protocol when they either weren't aware of it or forgot it is hardly getting in a twist. Bob has been an invaluable contributor to both the ERA site and to Club Cobra on more occasions than I can count and I have no problem with giving credit where it's due. Personally I always try to acknowledge the source of anything not my own that I post or point to. Again, I just consider it common courtesy.

Let's see...Bob posts a total of 5 lines informing you of the protocol, and you two post 19 lines in response. So who are the whiners here?

Bob didn't ask for money only recognition. Sounds reasonable to me. As for the threat to not buy ERA products, those of us waiting for completion of our cars certainly won't miss the extra competition for time in the ERA shop!

Lineslinger,

Just common courtesy to acknowledge the author or artist and maybe even say "Thanks", rather than copping an attitude towards the guy who provided a diagram you apparently found helpful.

Rwillia4,

Sure, everybody's in business to make money or they wouldn't be in business long, but apparently you have little knowledge of or experience with the folks at ERA. Search CC and I'd be very surprised if you find anything but positive posts regarding their attitude towards their customers and anyone else who needs help with their cars. You're way out of line.

OK, guys...cut it out.... and get this thread back on topic.

Bob pointed out correctly that, if you know the source of information, it is at least a courtesy to acknowledge with a credit line.

If you didn't know the source, I'm sure someone will recognize it and could add the credit.

That's it.

Thanks
ron

For what it is worth, I have seen the diagram here for several years and I believe it originated from Bob at ERA but someone correct me if I am wrong.

If I would have KNOWN it originated at ERA of COURSE I would have given credit to where it is due. When I copied it the picture had no identity source.
I try to offer some assistance to a guy and it turns into a whine and rag session.
If its your drawing "Bob", way to go and the info is appreciated, OKAY?

Thanks. There was no offense taken, even at the beginning of this diversion, but I was curious how a proprietary drawing got put into the public domain. I realize that it can happen in a perfectly innocent (and well intentioned) action.
I will be more careful in identifying the source of what I post. Being semi-anonymous has its drawbacks.

I had thought that you had posted the drawing(picture) a year or so ago when discussing this issue.

Not to farther cause any farther argument but there was a drawing that was almost identical posted quite a time back. I can't find it via search and it may have vanished during the big crash when a lot of data was lost. I saved a copy of it to see how it compared to the BB FE in my 69 Cobra which was factory installed. I can't even find the picture now, just a couple of notes that I made where it was different. I thought it was posted by strictlypersonl but it could have been posted by someone else. I just remember there was a picture very close to that one if not that one that was posted back in the past.
