Default Vintage Wheels for C4

I am starting a project with Bob at Vintage Wheels, Del Mar, CA. I have an Everett-Morrison with Corvette C4 suspension. Needless to say, there is a real Front Space problem which limits the type of wheels. Bob is working with me to resolve this problem with his 17" BRM style wheel with knock-offs and pin drives. Trigo's Front Space is more 5 inches off!! I only have a 4.0" front space to work with (front and rear). We are trying 10.5" (rear) and 8" (front) with 4.0" front space + adaptor. We will be testing the front wheel for caliper clearance next week and I will keep everyone posted.

There is a negitive (-.350") clearance to the front caliper, so there is no problem with caliper/wheel interference. I will be machining all 4 wheel for adaptor clearance. That is, the adaptor will be flush with the inside of the wheel for the maximum front spacing (4.0"). Front spacing is a problem with all Corvette C type of suspension because it is much wider.

There was not enough material in the wheel for adaptor machining, so the wheels will stick out of the front fender well by 3/4 inch. I am getting ready to mount a tire on the front to test for looks and clearance. The rear wheels should arrive today.....

Well it does not look good!! The tire is out over 3/4" when the car is on the ground. Next step is machining a new front spindle/hub mount using an aluminum (6061) billet reducing the distance by .75" to 1.25". These parts might be available for sale after testing....

The wheels and Bridgestore Expedia S-01 tires and mounted. The front (215/50-17) stick out somewhat (3/4") and the rear looks fine (285/40-17). Overall I think it looks great and the Knok-Off's (triwing) are inside the wheels. The new compound in the Expedia's really hooks and handles. The quality of Vintage Wheels is fantastic. These are the first wheels I have found (front/space) that will fit the wide C-4 suspension.
