My build is no different. With out trying to sound like a little league coach, keep your chin up. All good advice from these fine people. I do not like to set goals. For one if you do you are ultimately setting you self up for failure and discouragement. Nature of the beast with a car build and a family life. Goals and time lines with a family life are like a German and Japanese talking in a stuck elevator.
Secondly, truly enjoy the build (I'm trying my best to laugh at my scraped knuckles) because it will be a child of yours, you will remember its first steps. For some (not I) the climb of the mountain is more exhilarating then reaching the summit. I will enjoy my summit reach with a chicken dance on the driveway.

White Board works real well for stuff like this.
Eventually you have more at the bottom that has been completed than you do at the top of the board that still needs to be done. Or, my all time favorite..."PENDING". Usually I am waiting on something to arrive from UPS or FEDEX.
Start with small projects that can be finished completely in an afternoon. That way you realize that you are making progess. Then break the big stuff down into steps so you measure your progress. Good luck.

Earl,
Just finished my Everett-Morrison this week after 18 long months. I couldn't agree more with the one step forward and two back. The best thing I ever did was make a dead line to have it finished (but like the guys above said, its never finished so accept that fact and move forward). I bought Turkey Rod Run entry tickets before my car was completed just to seal the deal. Before that, I was spending time here and there after work. And its true that any progress is good, but the one hour philosophy will drag the build out. Get in there and make it your priority. Make a list of items that WILL get accomplished this weekend and if you run into a show stopper, switch directions and focus on another part of the build.
The number one priority should be getting on the road. The thumbs up, high fives, and positive comments are the best motivators a builder can get.
If that's not enough when you get her done I'll buy you a beer at the Canal street show or at the Turkey Run.
Get R done
Greg

You don't need kind words and encouragement you need a kick in the arse and some garage time! Go make something for it. I don't have time to read this whole thread I'm going to make a bracket with the time instead!

Hey! You're also in Florida! ... I'm in WPB and will be in Daytona for the Turkey Rod Run next weekend.
And hey! You've got a Street Beasts car! ... Mine is a CMC which is the same car as yours.
I had to do some brake work on mine in Feb, and while there I decided to change some gaskets etc, and 9 months later I finally got motivated to finish it up. Going to a local car gathering and seeing a few Cobras is significant motivation to get to it. And then I drove it around without a hood (and without many other unnecessaries) and the thrill of driving and the wow factor from others is significant motivation! But now, I still have a bit of an oil leak, but one thing at a time and I'll get it perfect soon!
Go to the Turkey Rod Run and you'll be re-motivated!
Cheers,
-Neil.

On a positive note
I made and powder coated brackets for my dual Accusump units and mounted them between the engine and the radiator on the cross member. One is for pre-oiling and the other is for after oiling of the Turbos........

Nice! I recently acquired a CNC mill, so I will be making new alum brackets etc with that. BTw, I never made it to Daytona -- major moving crunch and still not sure where I'm moving to. =8-O
