Default Process for painting aluminum

I intend to paint my Kirkham this summer. I'm an experienced amature painter and have all the toys and tools, but have never painted an aluminum bodied car. Can anyone provide details, recommended materials, or a great reference? Thanks.

You can do it ! Old way: etch (alumaprep) and alodine, available at most paint stores, then zinc chromate primer, then topcoat.
New way: alumaprep, self etching primer, high build primer, topcoat.

Thanks, Motorhead, I think I can too! I usually use R-M products and I was looking at DE18 as the etch/prep, followed by DP20 with the activator made for aluminum (PH120).

Post some photos before you paint it...before and after.
