American Hammer 6lb Lead Hammer
I'm not a vendor, just a really impressed consumer.
If you are looking for a lead hammer, look no further. I recently bought the American Hammer 6lb lead hammer. This thing is a f$#%ing nice hammer. I bought it directly from Ted, the company president, who stands behind his product. Made in America and made better than any hammer I've bought in the past.
He could easily be selling this hammer for over $50 plus shipping, if not more. The best part is that he sold it directly to me for $35 shipped to my door. I told him I was going to post about it on this forum and he offered to sell it to Club Cobra members for the same price. So, if you want one just email him at ted@americanhammer.com
Also, if you ever need it recast it costs around $20. You just ship it to Illinois and they send it back.

I don't use one, so maybe I'm wrong. But isn't it just a chunk of lead with a stick attached?

Well, you won't find a better chunk of lead on a stick out there, much less at that price.
That being said, I do think a hammer is the finest tool in the garage. Simple in its purpose yet forceful in its nature. No wires, no moving parts, no fluids, no instructions.

Or is it a stick with a chunk of lead attached
Probably going to order one tomorrow. I'll support the small guy.
I've seen lots of mold kits and handles to do this but I couldn't justify the cost. Never thought of pouring a hundred of them

You gotta use it for awhile before glowing so much I mean who knows until it takes ten or so wheels off and on?
I see people leave feedback to engine builders on eBay before they even start them ...

It is the best knock off tool I own. mushrooms a bit but the extra pound is worth it. Nice big handle as well.

This is a great tool...Finishline sells the same hammer for $70.00. I wish I had known about the source when I bought mine.
You can't knock the product!

Got mine while I was in Scottsdale. Even included a little hefty brass model!
The box is just the right size to put the safety wiring pliers and roll of wire in the trunk!

Shipped my old one back to them today for a $20 recast.
I ended up spending 1/2 more of that in shipping.
So the $35 deal for a new one shipped is excellent for those that need one...not much more vs. recast.

Got mine a couple of days ago. Seems like a nice solid hammer. I mean really, it's a hammer, it's not complex. $70 for the same thing would piss me right off.

Hello every one!
I just registered as a part of your community since talking to a few of you over the phone and becoming addicted again to the cobra. I've spent hours lately reading old posts and looking at your beautiful cars... my wife thinks i've found a new love on the computer and she's right. You seem to be a fun bunch with great stories and look forward to meeting a few of you at London. Since my birthday is coming this summer and i knew i was treating myself to yet another car, it only has become clear that its an ERA beginning for me. After talking with one of you, i think you have me convinced to try the build myself... we'll see.
By now all of your hammers have been shipped... 43 in all. Thank you and Thank you mooch for introducing me to a cool place and giving me a chance to give back to new friends with the same passion... spinner wheels !
i'll be around from time to time learning all i can and hopefully my wife will understand it may have beautiful curves and a great ass but not to worry, its tail pipe is on the sides.

I was going to post this pic for those folks that don't believe in, or forget to use anti-sieze on their spinners. I think the one on the left has given all it's got....

What anti-seize do you recommend? Something else for the trunk.

Thanks for these! A friend in another forum asked about the little hammer. Is it solid brass? I didn't want to scratch it up because it's too cute!

Bought mine some time ago from some other site and wouldn't bash my spinners with anything else. I'm sure I paid more than this guy is charging. What a bargain!
I don't know how many of those lead shot dead-blow hammers I broke and dinged my spinners with before I got the lead hammer. The only thing to use. Of course, you still have to anti-seize the spinner and wheel (Permatex) or you'll have to use more drastic measures. Somewhere on CC is a thread with some pretty brutal methods demonstrated.
