The Best Iron Heads
Is anyone using N351 Iron Ford heads on their 351's? I see that Ford has re-released a new casting with some minor changes in the combustion chamber.

Are you looking to make more power? The gt40p head was a nice little iron head. Small combustion chamber and not bad flow numbers for a stock head.

World Products
If you are looking for aftermarket iron they are about the best. I have the windsor sr on a 408 and they work . They work even better since porting and polishing.

More or less, they were designed to be a "spec" head for some of the lower tier NASCAR series around the country.......I've looked at them and the main thing I see is they need special off-set rocker arms as well as special push rods, valves too for that matter, the length is an animal all it's own........
Nothing off the shelf for a Windsor or Cleveland motor fits these heads......dats the problem, by the time you get a set ready to bolt on, you can just about buy any aluminum head you want.......
I've seen a number of the top dogs in Vintage racing are using the Roush/World iron heads, they all swear by them........

Try finding a pair iron Darts,Roush 200's or the old TFS Highport iron castings,if you really need an iron head.
Aluminum is the way to go,to run higher compression on the street, and loose front end weight.

The N-heads do work well but like said above you will need the right guide plate and Ford racing makes an off-set intake roller rocker for them or you can run a shaft system which is kind of expensive for street engines. Like mentioned why don't you just do some of the aluminum heads and make it easy on yourself.
Good luck, Keith

I do not think you would see much difference with either head or enough to tell. I would go with new Racing Head Ford cast iron head or the World heads if I had to have iron. We have good luck with the racing Service head and porting them to flow to 330 cfms on the intake side with a 2.100 valve.
It just depends on what you are trying to do with the engine and the power that you want to make.
Thanks, Keith
