Gasket Help, Pan and Rocker Covers

I'm ready to replace a lightly weeping rocker cover cork gasket and a tiny leak from the oil pan rear, between the most rear two bolts. Tiny drops, but it's time to seal it up.

What are the best recommendations for gaskets for these area?

418 stroker, AFR heads, Ford Racing Covers, Canton Pan.

RVT gasket sealer. Always works for me.

For the pan gasket I would recommend the one piece gasket by Ford Racing available at Summit Auto. Just search for engine parts under 351W

I'm with Tim on the oil pan gasket with a light film of high temp. silicone......
I always use the rubber VC gaskets with a light film of high temp. silicone also
it helps them to release cleaner if you have to remove them....
the rubber will stick to the head if you dont put the silicone on...

In addition, dont forget "Right-Stuff" gasket sealant to give you an added edge.

One piece rubber gasket for the oil pan, and rubber valve cover gaskets as well. I try to stay away from cork as much as possible.

Moroso small block ford valve cover gaskets from Summit. Steel core with blue silicon, no leaks. Also used Moroso oil pan gasket set. I had the old Canton pan that required seperate rail gaskets. Went to my Ford dealer and bought their Silicon gray gasket sealer for Diesel engines. Used it on the oil pan gaskets. Again no leaks.

I picked up the Fel-Pro rubber pan and rocker cover gaskets. Interesting, the instructions in the pan gasket box (will go on a Canton) state,
"IMPORTANT: This molded rubber silicone gasket must be installed DRY without any chemical adhesive".

I'm trying to seal up a tiny leak at the rear pan hoop and I'm not sure I can resist using additional sealer in that area!

Any thoughts here or real life experience?

I always put a small dab right in the corner where the rear cap meets the block and where the timing cover meets the block...even on 1-piece gaskets.

Never had a leak.

I used the Ford gray gasket sealer sparingly on the end seals and rail gaskets. No leaks. Followed Rick Lake's instructions. I did this twice until I discovered it was the rear main seal. Replaced that with a Felpro HP seal and it's dry as a bone. I liked the Moroso gaskets. You could torque them and they did not creap out. Put a couple of studs in the pan rails on the block to help line up the pan so you don't move the gaskets trying to line everything up.

The Moroso blue silicone valve cover gaskets are reusable. Comes in handy when adjusting solid lifters.

I will agree on that.

Have be reusing one gasket 3 times, even on different blocks.

some small dabs of silicone in the corners and a couple along the sides of the enginge makes it possible to take oilpan off and on again without toutching the gasket....

Have also used Summit steel/ rubber valve cover gaskets with good luck.
Temted to try the Moroso items.
But; Summit items are very thick, and is probably why I can run full roller rockers/ high lift cam under standard (low) valvecovers....
