Value of 289 HiPo Engine
Got an original 289 HiPo engine sitting here getting dusty. Numbers check out as K code. What's it worth? Ran fine in the '65 Mustang it got pulled from.

Send it down here, we'll put a small stroker kit in it and a cam....and you can sell it to some guy that wants a real 289 in a small block Cobra.

FWIW, I've seen mention of $10K for a factory Hi Po motor. Who knows what the market is when you try to find a buyer with real cash.

Hi,
I have (2) 5 bolt 289's and (1) 6 bolt 289 waiting to rebuild. One of the 65 289s made 425 hp and is running great in a FFR.

289 HiPo/HiPo s can go for 4500 to 15K depending on setup, history and condition.

It's a 6 bolt. I need to find 10 more minutes to get the codes though. Packing up for Lime Rock and a Hurricane today.
