decking block

What's the factor for milling the intake manifold sides and bottom after decking the block? I hardly found any information on the internet, one guy wrote it's 1.0 for 90° heads and 1.2 for the 80° ones.

So is it in fact 1.2 for the sbf?

How much are you planning on decking the block?

its just over 1.2 but not as much as 1.3

if you can tell me total off the deck surface I can tell you the amount for the manifold surface of the head

I need to take off about 0.03" for zero deck. Further my plan is to mill the intake as the heads are brand new and the block is already bored 0.04 so it's likely the heads will be used on another block during their remaining livetime.

for .030 off deck will require .037 off manifold----that is if they fit together before the decking operation

How much needs to be trimmed from the bottom of the manifold and the blocks manifold surface?

i'd check the fit before i cut anything, and don't forget to check the distributor fitment also.
