Wink Roush 342 lower head bolts sweeping?

first off I would like to thank the members of this forum for being such a great help turning my fairly recently purchased Rattlesnake into a cobra.

One last holdout problem is a slight coolant leak on the drivers side of my motor.

Only leaks a few drops of coolant onto the garage floor after most every use but not always.
after thoroughly cleaning off that side of the motor and taking it for a drive and then re-inspecting it to see the source of the coolant it seems as though the lower bolts of the head are weeping a bit of coolant right out of the top of them slightly around the washers and then dripping down.
Can someone give me a torque poundage specification for these heads? in any recommendation why it would come out of the bolts?

Think you
Dennis

The head bolts on a 302 based engine hit water. You need to put some thread sealant around the head bolt threads and retorque them. Depending on what brand fastener it is, they will have different torque specs. Are they ARP?

I believe the torque spec is 65 ft lbs for the 7/16 lower bolts. You may try putting a small amount of radiator sealer in lieu of removing the bolts for thread sealer.

Strange one this, I thought the Roush 342 motors used the Dart Sportsman block. These have blind bosses, ie don't go into the water jacket so in theory shouldn't leak water. They will be 1/2 " bolts and torqued to 100 ft/lbs but depends on lube used.

Bars leak would probably fix it but I would make sure they are set to the correct torque also.
