Rousch #1, no doubt dyno numbers are mainly a tuning guide. Mustang dyno's usually read lower than a dynojet, but at least they are rwhp ratings. Flywheel hp ratings don't take into account drivetrain loss, much less loss from sidepipe restriction. Look at the Daytona Coupe replica's, they get killed on rwhp due to sidepipe restriction. A better measure is mph in the 1/4, that will usually give a better guide of what power a combo is making. Cheers.

As far as dynos go, might as well get it done right which is part of the tuning process. Many*different types of dynos out there, but only one gold standard (my opinion) - the Dynapack*4000. Just bolt the rear hubs to those tightly calibrated servos,*read your exhaust gasses during pulls, and*adjust the ignition and fuel delivery system for absolute optimum performance across the RPM range.

They want $40,000 it is all aluminium, they dont have any yet, and it will only be sold through Dendeste. Looks cool.

Peak Crank HP @ RPM: 482@6300 (avg 384 from 3500 - 6600)
Peak Torque @ RPM: 430@5300 (avg 414 from 3500 - 6200)

Basically took a new Ford Racing 450hp 347 and dropped at my engine builders shop. Complete blue print, about 5 hrs short turn radius work on heads, port match and cleanup. True decks to give comp a slight bump. Reassembled with all original parts with exception of Melling Select pump, MLS head gaskets and Aviaid GT40 pan. Very mild tune running right at 12a/f with 35 degrees timing all in by 3200 rpms. Water temp 178, oil temp 190. No doubt we could have gotten to 500hp if we leaned on it a little more.

5000 trouble free and fun miles since build completed in July 2010.

Currently building 363ci using basically same parts with exception of h-beam rods, internal balance, higher quality pistons, 11:1 cr and mid level solid roller. Hoping for 550-575hp with a usable RPM range up to 7200. Considering new Edelbrock XT FI for this engine.

High revving small blocks are a blast in these cars.

Smalls blocks rule road racing and now with turbo charging being so effective they run the strip also.

The supercharger on Mel's car was not real. Was a hollowed out blower witha pulley for looks.

This is the writeup of my engine that came with the car.

It is a built 302 bored .020 over and makes a dyno tested 331hp at 5900 rpm and 324ft./lb. of torque at 4500 rpm. The machined block is equipped with a balanced rotating assembly complete with SRP forged flat top pistons and shot peened connecting rods. Next, a Comp Cams XE274HR camshaft and Air Flow Research 185cc aluminum heads with Comp Cams roller rockers were bolted up. Then an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake topped with a Holley Street Avenger carburetor finished things off. An MSD ignition system complete with both an MSD distributor and MSD coil provides the spark.

I picked up a 408 from Keith Craft yesterday to go into a B&B Cobra. 531 hp at 5700 and 540 tq at 4300.
Great street motor.

Other "trick" parts:
custom cam, TW 170 heads, TRY-Ys, Eddy performer RPM, custom curved distributor, 2.5" exhausts, Jacobs ignition.
My numbers are RWHP and RWTQ based on chassis Dyno results. This build makes 17" of vac and is very happy, idling at 900 Rs.
