I agree, like I first posted for that kind of money, you could have one hell of a motor other than paying for "Roush" name. Id' rather have 600-800 HP side oiler with stacked injection or the blown Shelby FE from George or Keith.

$40k sounds about right to me...

The engine alone runs typically about 60% of the drive line install.
Factor in the install, box, clutch, b/h, flywheel, dyno time for tuning, etc...

So $40+ for roller & $40+ for drive line sounds about par for the course for an SPF. No?

Just for the record... You wouldn't get me to part with my hard earned cash for that engine package :-)

I have the paperwork for CSX4005LA. I'm pretty sure that the 427IR was in the 30K range. It included some pretty pricey options like shelby valve covers and some other things. I'll look it up as I have to sort through the paperwork to send some with the car.

I tried calling Roush today for a price, but they were too busy at that time.

My 511 8 stack polished and block clear coated was $44K - I am embarrassed to say that now but I didnt know any better at the time. And yes it is easy to build a new SPF and have as much as a CSX or kirkham depending on options. Just ask Tin Man for SPF and I priced a kirkham with all the goodies and came to well over $125000

Point missed by all except the two Rods.
Roush is selling $8K to $12k, 500-550HP crate engines. For $21K+.
Are Shelby valve covers and DFI's horsepower? Are they 'to die for'?
No -they're off-the-scale margin parts which buyers perceive as 'cachet' along with Roush's name. To Roush's great delight. He found the perfect market to fleece-Windsors for fake Cobras.
He'll be flying more and bigger planes than Travolta.

Look at this Superformance with the injected Roush,....for $99,900.00. Are you kidding me ?

What am I missing ???
(Get a Kirkham, aluminum with side oiler,... or Shelby.

Plus, looks like someone stole the glovebox door. Maybe signed by Shelby. lol

Thank you, Chas. I don't really care if people think Roush is over-priced or not, or if the eBay ad is filled with inaccuracies or not.

However, the title of the thread is: "Roush 402IR 8 stack $44k?"

Maybe the title of the thread SHOULD be: "Roush 402IR 8 stack $44k installed with all labor and parts."

Hey Soupy Sales!
Care to enlighten us with meaningful numbers on those Roush bits and pieces you sell to the dopes-instead of trying to be a funny man??

No, but I'm fairly sure we can rule out Chas being a Roush employee or Roush supplier/subcontractor.

Don't forget the actual invoice vs. the claims of the exotic car dealer reselling the car because we have not seen that yet?

And is it true that the warranty begins to run when the engine is delivered to the dealer, not when the buyer purchases the car?
