Default Air cleaner clearance

I have decided to ditch the S&H aircleaner and turkey pan, and go to a more efficient set-up. I have an SPF with a 351 block, and an air gap intake. I would like to use the large oval Ford racing aircleaner, I think it's 21"X10", by 2" or 2 1/4" high. I don't think there is a clearance issue, but if someone with the same or similar set up could advise me before I order the thing, I would appreciate it.

Thanks, xcop

Thumbs up Thanks guys

for the information. I looked at Hollley 14" X3" with a 1 1/4" dropped base, but I wasn"t sure. I need to get the car over to the house, so I can do some measuring, but with the crummy weather, I have just left it in storage for now.

I have a 460 with a Victor single plane intake, one inch drop base, and am using this air cleaner with a K&N filter. It amazed me that I only lost eight HP on back to back dyno pulls with and without the air cleaner.

The other consideration is a dropped base. This was a Superformance I had about 6 years ago that had a Keith Craft small block 427, single plane intake and I took a Shelbly/Cobra Air Cleaner and a friend cut the base and dropped it so I could run the big element. Worked well. I'm currently running a turkey pan and K&N setup on my FE that I like that has a flat base plate.
