Ok, I think I see what you're doing now....

I think with the RPM intake you'd be around 460-470 hp. With the Funnel Web, you'd probably gain 20-25 hp...

I haven't done a 351 with that combo, but I've done some 347's with similar combinations...

I'd like to see the cam with a bit more lift.

Hi Brent, I'm running the RPM, I was just interested in the funnel web to see what the capabilities were. I got to wrenching like you said. It sounds real strong and pulls good 5500. It was a quick test with no one around on a 50 degree day.
Thanks
Lou

With your cam, you may not see much benefit. The Funnel Web is supposed to be good for mid range rpms as well, but to be honest, I've never tried one.

Cobras get a little grace with their light weight, but unless you're packing a lower rearend ratio, I would probably pass on a tall single plane intake.

I am staying with the RPM, anything taller and I would be calling Harwood!

On the cam: same duration with lifts in the .560 .570 range?

If you like where the engine peaks and you're not seeing any valve float issues, I would run similar durations but lift in the .600-.620" range.

Most of the aftermarket heads that you see really start to move some air at the .600-.650" lift range. It's good to select a camshaft that will work with the cylinder head design.

Those lifts and duration wont come with a flat tappet design, that's roller stuff, but I understand where your coming from. So I'm leaving 25 HP on the table right now from not maxing the head capabilities. I was thinking of just putting a different flat tappet, like a solid. anyway, I've done enough right now and will run it this summer like it is and see what next Christmas brings.
Thanks for your help Brent, and Happy New Year.

I was under the impression that you were running a roller cam. But either way, you can certainly get flat tappets with those durations and lifts...

I would be more inclined to use what you have instead of going through another cam break-in....

Default Hp/ tq

Hi,
I'm running a 333 w/ 680 Holly XE, Performer RPM, TW 170s, TRY-Ys, custom hydraulic full roller set up, good to 7K. Gross lift 570/562s. RWHP 392 @ 5900 w/ 401 RWTQ @ 4400. The right parts make good power, and this is with the air cleaner on.
Happy Motoring!
