One more question

What is the best method for damming up the intake ports on the heads whil cleaning and prepping the heads for the new gaskets? I've always just stuffed clean rags in there but are there any "tricks"? Thx!!!!

That's fine but keep the shop vac handy and use the open hose end with one hand while you scrape with the other. And don't gouge the surface-work slowly.
