Default good replica of 289

Hi cobra lovers!!!
i am from Spain and i am new here.
i love the 289 shape with chrome front grille, i would like to know what is the best 289 replica and if is posible to purchase the kit of this replica.
For me is very important the replica be very closed to the original shelby 289 model.
How much it cost more or less?
whai is the best marque builder of this model?
Thanks!!!

Shelby, Kirkham, or ERA all make an excellent example of the original AC Ace based 289 Slabside cobra. Cost, anywhere between $80,000-$160,000 depending on your options and drivetrain choosen.

I woiuld also suggest the Superformance MK II 289 which in Europe is sold as the AC MK II by AC Cars. This is built by the supplier to Shelby for their composite 289s. Original type frame and suspension if that is of interest to you.

You don't specify where you are living, but if you are in Spain, here's a source that's very close to you. If you are really interested in a good 289 model replica, consider one made in England by the Hawk Cars, Ltd. company. It is a spot-on replica visually, right down to the front egg-crate grille, one of the best I have ever seen!

I can't find the website link right now, but here is some contact info I got from a friend on the GT40s website:

Personal Visits

Visits to Hawk Cars can be arranged to our premises near Tunbridge Wells in Sussex, England. To avoid disappointment, visits should only be made by prior arrangement. Hawk Cars will provide accurate route details for anyone planning to visit us. Recommendations for local accommodation can also be provided for any visitors that are planning an overnight stay in the area.

***********************************************

If you are here in the U.S., my recommendations would include the Shelby company's offering, the ERA 289 model, and the Superformance. There are others....but those would be the best (and, I might add, the most expensive). Cobra 53's NAF (North American Fiberglass) model would be one of those others that comes to mind, a very good product, too, but I cannot speak to the cost of those.

Unique Motorcars offers a very nice 289 model and it can be custom made to the street version or the FIA version by talking to the Weaver family at the Unique website.

If you are interested in a slab-side, there are options out there, but they aren't as common...

Cheers!

Dugly
