I've been that route a couple of year ago. The engine before the one I have now had a 400 shot of NOS making over 1100 horse. That's where I found out where the totally useless horsepower limit was. Probably only used it 5 or 6 times. One day I took the wife for a drive and uttered the famous words....watch this..... we were doing around 50 when I hit the NOS button and ended up 3 lanes over. That' when I decided I didn't really need that much power. The 800 I have now is plenty. Weineck is only .2ths faster in the 8th and .4ths faster in the 1/4 and I can live with that.

Cobra: The First 40 Years by Trevor Legate

So racing in the SCCA championship events in the USA from 1957 was a Chevrolet V8-engined AC Ace featuring stylish flared bodywork. AC were required to subtly re-design the Ace when it metamorphosed into the Cobra in 1962, but it was hardly a major problem; they had done something very similar some 5 years earlier. Naturally other SCCA racers would have seen this car in action and taken note.

285 km/h = 177 mph. I thought the 427's got a little "flighty" at ~150 mph. Maybe this guy had some aero work done, or maybe 150 mph is a little conservative, or he's just plain nuts to take it that fast.

Had some fun on the local airstrip racing a twin turbo Gallardo, rolling start at 80km/h. It is supposed to have 1200-1300hp so I thought I held up pretty well considering I only have just above 500hp Speedo is graded to 260kph and the needle is way past that in the end, GPS said 285km/h.

I currently run HRE wheels built to my specs. I have a set of Compomotive Halibrand style also built to my specs. Both sets are 17 x 12 rear and 17 x 10.5 front.

How about Cobra 427, Cobra 350 Cobra 351 Cobra etc.....they are all copies , so what difference does it make as to which design V8 it is..its a V8 ....
