Default Ls3

Hi,
Does anybody have an ls3 engine with a t5 gearbox.
Is it compatible ?
And if so, can it handle the torque.
Greetings

I don't know for certain on whether or not it will bolt up, but I don't think so. As far as being able to handle the power I don't think you will have much luck with it unless you never get on it. The T-5 has a max torque rating of around 300 if I remember correctly. Now I'm sure if you really wanted to use the T-5 you could get away with it for a while, but it wouldn't last for much spirited driving.

Fully agree.

A T5 will not handle the torque.

A T56 6 speed or a TKO-600 would be better choices.

a built T5 will still break under 6.2L of torque -there are so many LSs in the secondary market, - you can find a nice T56 and have six speeds of freedom like we do.

the TKO can bolt up, but it at it heart is a chunky shifting soviet era box.

The more I read about engines, the more confused I get.

My first choise was a 383 cui, for the idle sound and performance

Later I thought about an ls3 for the weight reduction and performance,
But these engines are not so common in Europe.

Now a car wreck companie has an ls2 with gearbox coming for sale soon.

What would I buy
New 383, an ls3 new,or a used ls2

I think the 383 will be the easy fit,as for the ls engines you have to fit all the electrical components and accelerant pedal.( efi)

This is a difficult choice ?
Please help me out
