The Aluminator is their over the counter crate HP motor and from memory it's around or a little more than 500 HP. Someone said they are big - that's true. I think they are wider than a Boss 429. Getting one of them under a Cobra hood must be a chore but I know they are doing it.

Hey Dan, the kit I will probably go with has had coyote engines fitted. Width is not the problem, the motor I was referring to is the Aluminator XS, it has the cobra jet intake manifold which is quite a bit higher than stock. Would it clear the bonnet scoop?

I have no idea. It looks like a Mustang GT Coyote is 28.89 inches from bottom of pan to top or engine shroud but I couldn't find a dimension for the Aluminator XS. It does look a little taller but how it would line up with a Cobra hoodscoop I couldn't even guess. Once you settle on a replica make their fabricators will probably be the best source of information. You may have to go to a slightly oversize hood scoop.

THERE IS A LOT OF MISINFORMATION BEING GIVEN HERE..
You have a basic Coyote the 2015 model is 435HP
If you intend to supercharge the motor you need to buy the Aluminator series as the internals will support the SC. The standard Coyote will not.
FYI the Aluminator does not make MORE HP.
I have a 2014 Coyote. With a Lund tune, and the headers we delivered 425 RWP and 385 ft lb of torqe.
All these guys telling you that you need a Small Block, big block or need 600hp and 500 plus torqe are offering you opinions only... there is no proof of their theory... its what they like and then to see them providing wrong data on the Coyote further supports them not really knowing the facts....
Call Jay @ Vintage Motor Sports 888 427-1965
He offers numerous engine options including 427 packages...
Heres another source for you. Unfortunately, they have not updated their sight. the Boss intake motor has not been available for a while now. and the 412 HP is from 2011-12.

I had a coyote in my spf, it is a world of difference with a 550tq Windsor, they are both great engines, but when the coyote makes 100tq less its significant...

Not saying that I believe all published manufacturer's ratings but why would Ford Performance Parts list the Aluminator XS at 500 + HP?

It's been said before, but: "People like torque, but they buy horsepower."
I have rarely been asked "how much torque does it make?" No, the question is almost always "how much horsepower?"

Very true, but if the engine makes 500 plus tq their is a good chance the hp numbers are greater, tq wins races hp sells cars...

427W all the way. Coyote has nothing down low and that is where you want your power. Specially on the street. No good having something you have to rev the crap out of to get performance unless you are on the track.
And in my opinion, if you go a forced induction engines, they don't have the same raw, aggressive feel as a tough aspirated engine. Sure, they produce great power but it just isn't the same! I'm not a fan.
If your 427W has a good EFI/ignition setup, it will be easy to live with too.
PS. Steer clear of solid cams if you want low maintenance.

The Aluminator XS motor isn't available anymore as previously stated. Ford Racing is lacking on updating their site....
I don't mean to come off as knowing all but I just built a Coyote Cobra and I search all my options.
I left the phone # on my previous post for those interested to call.
Good luck

All good comments, i understand the difference between torque and HP. That was why the 427/428 is a pretty tempting offer. The std coyote at 435hp TQ? is a cheaper option than a 427/428 but down on grunt.
I thought the XS would of been a good motor, upgraded Heads, cams, oil pump, intake etc
Seemed like pretty good value.
Not really interested in rebuilding one to the XS specs either, want to stay NA.

Hey Zacson, i see your in OZ, doing a Pace with a 427. Are you getting full reg(not sure if you have permit reg up there) and if so any issues getting the 427 thru?
If so, where did you get your 427 from I have assumed its a Ford.

For $15000 your in FE territory with 100 more hp and 150 more tq...even a Windsor you would save 5 grand and have more power...
11 to 1 compression will need more than 93 octane not to ping, you will have to mix race fuel with premium, I had to do that with my Aluminator...

$13995 was my cheapest in CA. Here in OZ, especially where i would be driving 95 or 98 octane fuel readily available.
For a 427 FE, if you stay with an Iron block your probably going to save $2k not $5K, if you go alloy block, by the time you add EFI etc not alot in it. We need efi here to pass emissions testing!

Hoity, I'm putting a supercharged Coyote engine from a 2013 FPV GT in my build and it fits. You can also make the Coyote engine look very cool, just add an 8 stack injection system and some billet valve covers.
