Hey d488y2, i am not sure if the Cobra Jet intake manifold is higher than yours, do you have much clearance under the hood/scoop?

I would like something a little different although given the amount of chevs going into these things, anything ford is a little different!

The 8 stack looks great, but when you factor in what you get with the XS, compared to the std coyote, then modifying to suit. Its probably cheaper going with the XS and its all sorted from the factory

Coyote miami do you have much clearance under the hood?

We measure using different scales.
USA uses AKI or something like that.
Aus uses RON

I can't quite remember the details. Google it for more info, but I recall researching this with my engine builder to ensure that when we built my engine compression and octane levels jived.

There are two ways to measure Octane ratings. The Research method and the Motor method. In the US we use the average of both combined (R+M/2).

In Oz, they use one or the other. If I remember correctly (IIRC), they use the Motor method which is the higher of the two.

Your 93 Oz octane gas is NOT the same as US 93 octane, far from it.

Our 91 octane in AZ is about 87 when tested, I had to mix 110 octane race at 5 gallons to mix with the 87 to get a 95plus octane it did not ping but I was down on power, that was the only drawback to the 11:1 compression...

Pace did a test fit just before my kit was shipped. There’s not a lot of clearance but it fits. The body is currently off my build and if all goes to plan I should be dropping the engine in soon.

thanks D488y, the link dan sent for vintage motorsports above has photos of what i wanted to see.
Your engine bay certainly looks full. I dont think the cobra jet manifold is any higher and in fact maybe lower than your setup.
Spoke with John at Herrods yesterday, so all good. Just need to find the dollars

on the octane side of things, usa 87 is approx our 91 or std, usa 91 is approx our 95
usa 93 is approx 98 aus.

If we decide to install a Coyote setup with a 6-spd Tremec, is there a source somwhere with a list of required parts and stuff needed for the full install? Or someplace with full drop in and go kits...?

The Coyote package is a great setup in a Cobra. I'm familiar with one that James Yale owner of Radical Roadsters in Houston had In Backdraft Roadster. Impressive package, hovever; I must say that although the motor was in excess of 500 HP at idle it sounded like a Ford minivan. I know that is the result of efficient computer based fuel management and valve timing but it is not what I think of when a Cobra comes to mind. I respect the technology but the Way the Coyote power plant sounds at idle is a definite disconnect for me. Good luck with whatever combination you end up installing in your car.

I just got my BDR with a 435HP Coyote, it is awesome. Would not have done it any other way.
