I have what I think is a 302 ford motorsport engine with Alan root heads.

Look like Root heads. Old FMS. Might be hard to tell with headers attached but do the exhaust ports have 4 bolts per port?

As yet i don't know as the motor is still in the car.. what would this show prove?

I don't know too much about them. A friend had a set for his Mustang and I thought they were the coolest thing ever! Aluminum! Big time back then!
They had four bolts on each exhaust port, two in the stock position and two offset as I remember. I'm not sure of flow rate or port size though. I don't think there's anything wrong with them, just older in design.
