Oil port left side rear: accusump?

My 351 "boss" block has an oil port in the rear left just below the head...wondering about plumbing an accusump there instead of to the very busy engine front?

Just looked at my blocks, I believe I have the same hole. Looks like -6 or maybe -8. It's not thru just dead end on both my engine and spare block, maybe it is into oil on yours.

I run oil with -12 so the hole seems a little small to me. The AccuSump connects into the engine feed line from the oil cooler.

If you want to go direct to the block with an Accu Sump, the 1/2” NPT port is in the area of the fuel pump on that block. You will need a long NPT to AN adapter. Or you can tee into the oil return line.

Thinking a bit more about this: there's a lot going on with the remote filter, oil thermostat, guage sender etc right there by the mech fuel pump block off... It would be really clean to go to the back with a single line, but as Jim pointed out its rather small...I've finally got all what (ten?) oil An fittings leak free...another thought: on the oil filter remote housing there is an "in" blocked off, and an "out" with an oil temp sender...could the accusump simply plug into one of these? Not having to disturb my finally tight plumbing?

Its been awhile since I did my installation. You can go to the Canton web site and view the various options that you have. The goal is to re pressurize the motor if the Accu sump detects low pressure. Direct to the oil galley is the quickest way to do this but you do have options. Once you get the right adapter, about 4” long, the left front port is really a clean way to go.
