Default Updating Carbs

pulled the old Edlebrock carbs off which had parts missing from the linkage and replacing with the new AVS2 series carbs. Also went with 1 electric choke on the rear carb. just a bit more wiring and attach fuel lines, then to tune. last picture was the old carbs before I pulled.

Nice, Did you use the 1903 Elec and 1904 manual carb? Have you started tuning yet. Are you using plug readings or AFR?
I have been considering two of the 1902 manuals and just detuning the jets and rods to the 1903/04 specs IF they're a good starting point.
Thank you for any info.

Thanks,
I'm still kicking the idea around. If so I'll go the the Price Motorsport intake flat milled version. I typically do these type mods when I run low on the necessary mods. (necessary in my brain)
If I do it will be my fourth carb, (not counting the EFI adventure), third intake.
The car will never be done...

Carbs are great, looking for someone to dial in jetting in Michigan. Prefer dyno tuning

Ok, had car calibrated. Steady speed at all RPMs were at a steady 12.5, but when WOT it goes rich. Has .077 secondaries and I did not have any smaller ones to try. I have ordered and assortment of secondary jets to try a few steps smaller to see what results I get. Car runs great overall and starts and pulls hard, other than being Fat WOT. Secondaries vacuum butterflies are opening, had to lighten the springs to allow them to operate. Any suggestions on what Secondary jetting to try first, AFR is at 11.4 at WOT. I have ordered .075,.074,.072,.070

Attached WOT dyno graph, you can see it goes fat quickly. but power for the little 302 is decent as is the torque.

Great progress and thanks for posting the info so far.

The Edelbrock tuning guide is pretty accurate. See pages 33-34 for yours.
https://edelbrock-instructions-v1.s3...ning-guide.pdf

The guide shows your secondary jets are already .77 and your not far off a good WOT AFR as it is. So I'd start with the .75

Great info. I'm about to top off my engine build with the same setup. Looks like really good numbers. Curious what cam and compression are you running?

I called and spoke with Mary Price today. Got the intake on order. She has to mill it to the flat configuration for me. She said this may their last run of intakes as its hard to get materials for the foundry. Also that age is creeping up there and they're feeling it.

I'm just going to go with dual AVS2 1902 as I never use a choke and the only difference in the tuning VS the 1903/1904 dual quad carb is the secondary jets which are pretty cheap.

I changed my mind and want to go with the 19053 Black AVS2 (650cfm).
https://www.edelbrock.com/avs2-carbu...gr--19053.html
(I'm a low bling person) All the internal venturis are the same. Just have to have to the change metering rods, Pri,Sec jets and accel pump nozzles.

Bad part Edelbrock won't have stock until June they said. Picked a bad time to move foundries, lol.

329 hp and 359 torque not bad for a 302 at the wheels
Plus it looks better than a single carb or FI.
