Harmonic balancer cover
The timing marks on my harmonic balancer are illegible. (351 Windsor block)
For small and large block Chevy's you can buy a balancer cover that has the timing marks on it and avoid buying a new balancer.
I've looked everywhere, and have found nothing similar for Ford balancers.
Anyone know why they are not available? (...or if they are, where?)

Set your engine to TDC and make a mark on your damper opposite the TDC marking on the timing cover.

First verify TDC, then remove it, clean it, then install a Mr Gasket timing tape, or the MSD strip. Then mask them off and and repaint. Dont use one of the other brands of timing tapes. I’ve tried those, and the come off at rpm, first time!!

If you have a timing light with an advance dial you only need one mark - TDC. So Ed's advice would work.
