351W Block
Thanks to the replies to my earlier post. I am looking for a 1969-1972 351W block. I live in NY and my Cobra will be titled based on the year of the engine that I use. If I go with anything newer I will have to install exhaust emissions controls (cat coverter, EGR system, etc.) and I am trying to avoid that.
If anyone out there has a block or short block for sale, let me know.

I'm supposing that shipping would about kill the deal from Washington state. I have a buddy wanting to off a complete C9 351W.

When you say complete, do you mean a complete short block, long block, or engine? Does it have any modifications, such as heads, cam, etc.? Also, has the block been worked or raced? Has it been overbored .030 already, has it been decked? And, most importantly of all, what is he looking for in price? This may be the determining factor once I tally in the cost of shipping.

1969 351 Block
I put a '69 351 in my Cobra. I had a builder in SoCal buy a '69 short block from a place in Las Vegas that identifies and sells blocks. The builder acquired my block based on the casting number, installed a new crank kit and all was well. The local Ford dealer verified that it was a '69 block for registration purposes and now I have a '69 vehicle for smog purposes.
If you want, I will look up the phone numbers of those places. Also, there is a web site (again, I'll have to look it up) that lists casting numbers for blocks (and heads) for all years and all makes.

351W
I just spoke with aguy who has a 1969 351W. I don't know if the block is in good shape, although he said it was magnafluxed recntly and there are no cracks. If it works out then I'm home free.
If it doesn't it's back to square one. So, if you don't mind Ace, could you get me those telephone numbers and also the website that you mentioned.
Thanks,
Tony

351 Engine Cores
Here are two internet sites that deal in engine cores. The third deals in remanufactured engines, but had offered just to sell me a magnafluxed block.
www.coremarket.com
www.enginecore.com
www.remanufactured-engines.com (800-492-5784)
Here is a site that lists casting numbers for heads, blocks, and cranks, for almost any engine, from almost any manufacturer:
www.Fred-Jones.com
To answer an earlier question, I had my short block built at Wayne's Engines in Riverside, CA (909-684-2222) (Burt). I told him what casting number I wanted, and he found one at an engine core warehouse in Las Vegas (I lost their phone number). So he built an engine exactly the way I wanted it.
I hope this helps.
