Update on my 514
The cam was the Crane unit which comes with the 514 from Ford Performance. The distributor was stock. High volume oil pump/80 PSI/20-50 Valvoline...Now, I don't know exactly what metals these two gears are made of, but I DO know when removed for rebuild they both looked new. We re-used both with confidence. Have been told that the MSD distributor gear IS the problem. SO... why not do like I do, and use the slightly ugly stock distributor (I painted it) with all MSD electonics? Solves the problem.. I have an MSD cap/wires/etc to pretty up the situation, as soon as I get her back on the road next week.
