Default Pertronix Question

Hello,
I was moving my Pertronix Ignitor to a rebuilt distributor and I realized I can't find the instructions that came with it. Anyone know what the gap between the stationary gizmo and the part that spins with the distributor should be? Also do the two wires hook up to the + and - on the coil?

Thanks, Chuck

I have the pertronix unit and I believe I still have the instructions at home. I'll check and post back this evening.

If you can't wait just give em a call and they'll help you out.

Hey Chuck,
Happen to have my instructions right here. I also have the little plastic feeler guage they gave me. Anyway, Instructions say to set the air gap at 0.030".

Default Thanks

Oh yeah, I remember that plastic thing now. I wonder if it needs to be non metalic. I'll see if I can find something plastic that thickness.

Thanks again, Chuck

About the wires. It shows that the Red wire goes to the battery (+) terminal of the distributor and the black wire goes to the dist.(-) terminal of the distributor. The wire from the ignition should also go to the battery(+) side of the coil. Her's pertronix number if you need more help. 800-827-3758. Good Luck, Sal

The feeler gauge should me non-magnetic, so aluminum or brass could be used. Also, don't hook the Pertronix up backwards or you'll fry it.
