Camshaft which will pass smog!
Does anyone has experience with using an aftermarket cam which will pass CA smog!
I am thinking about a Compcam 168 Solid Roller!
Thanks

Some more spec's would be helpful, regarding the cam, and the rest of the engine (compression? cats?). Also smog at what level (year)? And, can you, would you, be reprogramming the EFI? OBDC testing? What level of EFI are you running?

California year 1982. Cats, 2 bbl Carb. I use a Holley 4 BBL.
Current cam is solid flat of unknown origin. Car just passed. Power however is dismal. Thanks

Thought they had some law in CA (SB100 or something...) where a Cobra is emission exempt?

Dave,
The 500 numbers alloted for SB-100 and SB-1508 were used up by June. And if that is one of the Autocraft Cobras that Ford actually built, it wouldn't be allowed under SB-100 anyway. I thought Ford used 302s in the ones they built.

This actually is a prototype, Serial # AK02, the second one made, it was shipped to the us minus engine and transmission. Ford mounted a 351W truck motor and a T5. It is registered as a 1982. I tried to register it under SB 100 but could not since it is an AC. I will try again early next year since the CHP just recorded the car serial # in the computer as a specialty made vehicle.

AK02 originality???????????????
I traded AK02 two years ago and I since found out that the 02 serial number was probably not genuine. It is not a prototype Autocraft but a later model with numbers doctored! Buyer be aware!
