Default PCV for 351W

Hi Guys,

I'm using a 1969 351W and would like to know what you guys have found to be the best way to vent the crankcase. The breather cap I am using has a short pipe fitting for a vent hose. Should I place the PCV Valve between that breather fitting and the air filter or should I go for Carb vacuum or manifold vacuum?

I am using a Raod Demon carb and there is a vacuum pipe at the rear base of the carb. I also have a threaded port for a vacuum fitting on the rear portion of the Edelbrock Performer RPM manifold.

Any ideas, advice, or suggestions, as always will be greatly appreciated.

Tony,

On my stroker I have a regular PCV valve coming out of the right hand valve cover and the hose connects to the vacuum intake in the plate below the carb. On the left hand side I just have a hose from the breather cap to the air cleaner and it has worked since 1996.

I've got a Billet Specialties PCV valve holder with a tube going to the inlet on the Speed Demon.

Default PCV connection

I have Edelbrock Signature Valve covers and there is no grommet on the valve cover to accept a pcv vale. There is a breather cap with a hose pipe attached.

How would I run a PCV valve? Would I run it from that breather cap pipe to the carb, Air filter, or should I place a fitting in the manifold to accept it?

P.S. I am buying tall Cobra Valve covers and air claener in the near future. Bought the Edelbrocks because the price was right.
