Sure, why not! If I could use the engine I'd go for it!

EDIT:
Well, as the "plot" thickens we begin to see "why not"!

So whats up with the engine? Or should I say, this seller? Is this engine NOT as it is purported to be? That would never happen on e-bay,,,,,,right?

I emailed someone that he has already sold a 302 block to. I checked in his rating. He has sold 2 302s. We shall see what happens. I also emailed him about the wrong part number.

Let's just say that all Ford shortblocks are not the same and leave it at that.

Ford of Mexico, if there is such a company??? I'm beginning to wonder if this is a "real" Ford block or a "replica" block. Something fishy, but I can't put my finger on it.
I DO know there are "parts" made in Mexico and packaged to look like Ford, GM, Chrysler parts. Same colors, logos, etc. but with very subtle differences, so it's not a "trade mark" infringement deal (sort of). It's pushes the envelope of fraud without crossing the line (depending on how good your lawyer is).
Is that what may be happening here?

It's an Explorer engine - maybe a bit overpriced, but you guys are making WAY to big a deal about it. If you've never heard of people using Mexican blocks, you need to get out more.

I keep hearing this thing about Mexican blocks being BETTER than American blocks! More nickel or something.
Does "FORD" have some kind of plant down there making engines? If so, it could be better than an US block? The price sure seems right!

The only engine's listed as "Mexican Block" is the 1968 "J" Code 302 4V.

The K code 289 (Hi-Po) were cast in Mexico, at the Hermisillo plant. The Mexican 302 in desirable because theye kept the thick main caps of the hi-po 289 when they cast it, along with the high nickel content material of the block itself. Quite a few of the hi-perf small blocks were cast there.
