Default Cam help!

I have a 91 5.0 that is mostly stock for now. I have a ported victor jr and a Holley 650 that is going on top. Can some one suggest a cam that will work with this set up? I am ok with a lumpy idle and poor low end performance. What I am not ok with is having to install new pistons for clearance issues. Any help?

Thumbs up

Hi,
I ran a motorsport B303 cam in my '91 LX, good alround cam up to 5,500 rpm. You don't want to rev more than that with a stock bottom end. 224 duration and .480 lift = no clearance problems.
Perry.

As a rule, stick with something at 0.500 lift or less. Duration of 224 @ 0.050. If you want a lumpy idle look for a cam with a narrow lobe separation , 112* or less.
