If I were looking for relaibility & warranty & would go with one of the ford racing long block engine assembly. Many local suppliers sell these across the country. Here's an example

I would give Southern Automotive a call. I have a 396 stroker they built and love it. The after sale service is incredible.

Southern Automotive has a great reputation and I've had 6K trouble free miles on my 351 W. from them...
If I needed another engine or some work done I'd head right for them ...

I am having my 3rd engine assembled by Southern Automotive as I write this. 1st motor was sold when I sold my SPF. 2nd motor is in my Kirkham. 3rd is going into a street rod. They build strong streetable dependable motors, as well as all out race motors if you run on the track. After sale support is WORLD CLASS which means more to me than any other hyperbole.

Southern Automotive does seem to have a great reputation for quality and service. I visited their place last year and was impressed. I have an engine there being built right now, in fact, because my car builder and I thought they were the best engine builder to use. The fact that the engine was quoted to be completeted in five weeks, and it is now ten weeks and no engine, has shaken my confidence in Southern Automotive to some degree. By the way, my engine is not one that requires any special build, it's just a FE. I get no exlpanation, just that it's not done yet.

Bumpster:
You can take my engine. It is completed and sitting at Southern. My car won't need an engine until mid-January. I am sure that Bill can build me another one by then.

Thanks for the offer, Lew, but if I were you I wouldn't count on their ability to build you another engine for any particular deadline, even if it's two months away. If your engine is done, pick it up asap and feel very fortunate.

I just received my second Southern Automotive engine. I worked every detail of the engine with the SA team and got exactly what I wanted. They did an awesome job. I can appreciate the frustration associated with a seemingly endless timeline from start to finish. If you really want it done right with serious attention to every detail, these folks are great. They have a multitude of happy customers.
