I can't help you as I never heard of DUI ignition. Do you know what company makes it? Most of the people around here run either Jacobs or MSD.

Ernie,
Notice that the post is from Turkey. Maybe this should be referred to Turk.

Performance Distributors, Davis Unified Ignition a.k.a. D.U.I. is an H.E.I. for Fords. I had one on a '66 390. Comparable to a race HEI for Chevys, very good piece.

Scott,
Thanks for explaining that. I had just never heard of it. Was it an aftermarket unit or did it actually come from Ford? I am familiar with several of the H.E.I. systems, so now I learned something new.

V-8
Obviously both of us have a lot to learn. I don't claim to know a lot and you obviously didn't know much about that system or you would not have posted the question. Just read the posts and we all learn. Have a great day.

V-8,
I have seen some stock Chevy HEI modules fail and it was always attributed to heat. Everyone running HEI always kept a spare module in his or her toolbox. Usually any problem with the module was corrected when it was replaced. I never had a problem with misfire or complete failure with the DUI though. I don’t think it would be accurate to say this type of unit misfires when it is hot.
I run a Pro-Billets, 6AL's, and Blaster 2's in my cars now. I have had MSD boxes and MSD coils go bad. Now days, everyone I race with carries a spare MSD ignition in their trailer or they run two and switch to the spare if one fails.

Like ScottJ said, the DUI (Davis Unified Ignition) is a Delco HEI ignition for Fords. I looked at one. Seemed a little pricey for an HEI setup although compared to a vintage Ford distributor, it's certainly an improvement. And for a Cobra it seemed a little too tall, and might cause hood interference problems. Don't know.
But I'm using the pretty much standard MSD Pro Billet distributor (which is also a Delco style dist), and MSD 6A and it works fine.

V 8,
Your English is a lot better than my Turkish or Arabic. Good for you! Don't let any comments made by these people bother you. Believe it or not, is is mostly all in fun.
You might consider a simpler and less expensive option. Mallory makes a very good distributor called UNILITE. It is breakerless, just as the DUI and HEI are. It uses light instead of magnetism. You must use a coil with it, just like older distributors do.
I used the UNILITE distributor with a high voltage coil and 8mm wires on my 427 Ford engine and on the dynamometer, (an engine test) it produced nearly 500 horse power.
With this combination, I had absolutely no misfires and never had to replace any parts in the distributor. It is also very easy to install and connect.
Another item is size. The Mallory UNILITE is the same size and shape as a stock breaker point distributor. The DUI and HEI units are much larger. They can be a nuisance when running the spark plug wires close to carburetors and throttle linkage.
Good luck to you V 8. Let us know if we can help any more with this.
Al
