SBC Flywheel Dowel Pin
Does anyone have a view on whether or not the dowel pin that helps locate the flywheel on the crank is really necessary.
On the SBF, there isn't one, or wasn't provision for the one I had.
The crank has the shoulder for the flywheel to locate and the fit is quite tight. Also I have ARP bolts.
If the consensus is Yes, the hole in the crank is 11.02 mm and the hole in the flywheel is 11.8mm !! This means a stepped dowel - is there such a thing ?
Cheers
