Default Which air filter set-up?

Trying to figure out what setup to run on my FFR replica. The engine is a 357 Windsor with Vic. Jr. Heads and intake. 700 dp Holley. I really like the look of the small air cleaner inside a turkey pan. I have heard this setup will choke my motor. Is their a K&N extreme lid (& drop base?) that would fit inside the turkey pan for normal driving, and then change to chrome top for shows? Hood clearence is a concern w/ the Vic Jr. intake. Pictures of different setups are appreciated!

Brian,

You could do some searches for Turkey Pan but I will tell you what some will reveal. So long as you use a low restriction filter element, some people have found little difference between cold air induction via Turkey pan, and big airfilter. One person tried several configs on his engine and the HP difference I believe was in the single digits.

Thanks for the links guys. I wasnt trying to gain performance from the turkey pan, i like it for the looks and just didnt want to lose hp. I have heard that it could choke the motor. In my searches it looks like as long as you use a high flow filter there is very little difference. Seems i saw a K&N filter setup inside a turkey pan with an extreme lid, but cant find it now.
