Default stacked fuel injection vs. carbed

Hey guys help out a guy in search of answers. Besides the obvious price difference, what are the pros and cons of a stacked fuel injection system vs. a carbed setup? My application will be in a 351W with an estimated 425HP+.

Default EFI

Hi, EFI setup is a bit more expensive but if you will be using the car as a sunday driver I feel EFI is a much better option as you can just turn the key and go. You dont spend two hours under the bonnet trying to tune it. You can just enjoy the ride. I have New trickflow inlet, 24 lb injectors etc, not too expensive.

cobra Curtis Curt there is a 15-30 hp advantage in the midrange depending on head work and cam shaft. FI is the way to go. After it is set up, it's like driving your family car, starts right up, get's just as good power as with a carb until 6500 rpm where a carb wins out. The emmissions and fuel stretching are the advantage. The stack setup looks cooler then the carb setup. Price is the only problem and running fuel lines both ways and where to put the electronics. I love my Speed pro setup works great. Rick Lake

CobraCurtis:
Check www.verycoolparts.com run by Wayne Presley (my apologies if I spelled the last name wrong). He's got an IR Stack configuration and a lot of information on his site.

Now this will confuse you..

Have a look at the 'Thread' and link titled 'Roush 402 Spec. sheet' in the Active Topics.

Damn that looks good..

Bernie Knight They black flagged me for doing multi tasking when racing the car. No waving, no picture taken, and watch out for red lights. Gateway is getting tough. I asked Santa for a camera for christmas, we will see. Jay has some pictures on Super coupe at Run&Gun. I think he got he a couple of times. Parts coming in for new motor. almost ready. Want to see what the BT heads look like. A couple of people said they look so-so. I want to see KC's numbers on them. If I go this way I will not bore the new block out to 4.280. The heads have 2.19 valves, and a different chamber design. Looks high swirl, 64cc someone wrote. Got the dyno slim, still running numbers to see the best combo. I will let you know what I end up with. No 700hp, and no STORIES of 9.0's in the 1/4 mile. I got the paxton hood made for the car. May put the Paxton on just for fun. Have to bring the other hood for matchup on color. Should be nice when done. Linkage in shifter gave me a problem at R&G. Need stronger springs in the shifter to stop 2-5 gear shifters when racing and 4th to 1st gear spin outs in turn 1. Car was not HAPPY about that one, might make the Mag. Hope you are well, family too. Rick Lake
