Default 302 Crate/345HP Distributor Question

I am planning on buying a 302 Crate/345HP engine (XB3) from Ford Racing. I will be installing it in a 40 Ford Coupe using a 600 CFM Edelbrock carb and ignition coil. My question is, what would be the best choice from MSD? I would like to use MSD "Ready to Run" #8352 but I have heard that I would need to change the distributor gear to a "steel" gear to be compatible with the hydraulic roller cam in the XB3 engine. If so what is the part number?

Anyone have any experience with this engine using carb and coil and no computer? What distributor would you use in this setup?

Thanks you.

I have the ready to run MSD and love it. Easy to hock up and plenty of fire power. I also have the 6AL, blaster coil. You will have to change the gear but its not difficult. the steel is the gear you want. Also remember that you will need to change the springs in the dist because the dist is delivered with the slow curve springs I ran the light silvers, brings in all of the timing sooner. Just a side note I bought my 6AL used and called MSD and they treated me excellant. MSD even sent me an installation kit for free and the tech was excellant They are and excellant company to deal with.
