Default Which header gaskets for GT40 heads

Guys:
I'm trying to replace the the old header gastkets on my car with copper ones. I've got a 351W with iron GT40 heads. The gaskets that came off the car have rectangular ports, but the Mr Gasket copper ones that I was just received (p/n 7161) have an oval port. Which type of port do the GT40 heads have???

I'm at work now so I can't actually look at the head itself, and am hoping that one of you guys can help me resolve this so I can buy the proper gaskets before I get home.

Thanks,

Russ

Russ, you will probably have to trace the openings from your old gasket on to the copper one and mill it out. I had to mill quite a bit of material out of my gaskets to keep from getting any restrictiion on my TFS Trick flow heads. Unless your heads have stock ford head port dimensions, you will have to do the mill work.

Tony:
Thanks for the advice (on both forums!). I'm thinking that my GT40 heads have the stock-size exhaust ports, whereas your TFS heads have much larger ports. I'm afraid to mill out these copper gaskets, because they have an embossed (raised) lip on one side that I assume is supposed to fit snugly up against the header and complete the seal.
