Angry Carb Dripping

Have a 351w with 8 month old Edlebrok 650cfm carb.
Suddenly it has developed a small drip in one side of the primary venturi at idle causing the engine at idle to rev up then slow down. You can actually see it drip slowly when running. Any idea what is causing the drip?

Lightbulb Could be your float is too high or stuck

You need first to attempt to drop your float level a little at a time.. I had to drop my floats on my Demon 850 ALL the way down, and then that problem ceased. I also found a tiny piece of crud in there upon disassembly, and removed it.

Having said that I am eagerly awaiting my EFI system. I hate carbs on a car/truck!

Default Happy to help

The piece of crud I found was in the needle seat.. keeping the needle open just a wee bit.. but I also had intermittent overflow problems (heavy dribbling, I mean it filled the carb and flowed over the top several times and washed gas onto my intake, that was scary even with the giant fire extinguisher I was carrying ! This happened because the carb was not in any way properly tuned or adjusted when delivered) the overflow condition was from the floats being too high

If it is only dripping on one side it sounds like the idle air system is plug. Try spraying some carb clean in the small holes you see in the carb. You should see 4 total. Two for the main ventura and two for the idle system. Two on each side. Spray down these holes and see if it helps.
