need roller kit, HELP!
im looking for an inexpensive 1:5 ratio roller kit that includes lifters, pushrods, and rocker arms. im looking at getting a short-block that has a roller cam in it already, so i wont be needing a kit with a cam if such a thing exists, im trying to save money. the block doesnt come with heads of course so the heads ill be using will have to be rebuilt with a roller setup to accomodate the cam. (pushrods, lifters, rocker arms) any ideas on the cheapest way i could do this?

Sega,
You don't have to have roller rocker arms with a roller lifter cam. Roller rockers reduce friction, and thus, returns a tiny bit of horse power. In the interest of saving money, just replace push rods and rocker arms with stock stuff.

Why do you want to go with 1.5 roller rockers? I used 1.7 roller rockers and gained about 25 hp on the dyno. Price was under $200 from a dealer in Houston (advertises in Fast Fords and Mustangs).

Be sure and have your valve springs checked with your intended cam and pistons.

Well...****! That never registered with me until your post. What is he thinking the distributor is at the wrong end of the engine. The number one plug on Chebbie is on the left side where on a Ford it's on the RIGHT side. Oh well sorry I couldn't offer anything.

I don't like to mix and match... so if you know who made the cam, go with that manufactures suggested lifters. A roller cam must use roller lifters. If there is a difference in the height of the lifters (old and new) then you may need to replace the push rods to keep the geometry correct. Again, check with the cam manufacture to see what they recommend.
For my info, is this a GM rebuilt block, or something you picked up "along the way"? Is the cam stock or aftermarket? Just trying to get a feel of what your dealing with.
