Upper Control Arms (Adjustable)
I have a post on Parts Wanted but thought I would also ask here.
I am looking for a supplier of adjustable upper control arms for my Cobra build. I have checked with Port City Racing, Fast Lane Racing and such. Heidt makes adjustable upper control arms for their front end kits but when asked, they do not sell separate parts.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thank you, Cobracer

I have a pair and they are top notch both
in quality and fit and finish. Go to there web site, scroll down to the Mustang II
section. They have adjustable upper control arms for both coil over shocks or
springs plus lowers arms as well. Hope
this helps.

Alex,
What geometry are you using. If it's base MustangII there are sevral routes from example: $60 to $200 complete for upper arm.
The chassis you selected should have the ears for the suspension, if so, go to the supplier and select their design data/dims, they should have suggestions, then purchase.
If it's original COBRA go the 8840 Comp parts route on the suspension parts and geometry, ADVISE to forget the old AC/Triumph parts route unless it's a purist route.
The front geo should also relate to the IRS rear, same notes apply to that area.

As I posted in your wanted thread, Pole Position makes them for the FFR's and they have several types available for Mustang based builds.

Another option is to use an upper control arm bracket that lets you set the alignment with shims GM style. Then, you can use Heidts non-adjustable MII "D" upper arms.
I went this route. My alignment guy was happy too.
Brackets are from Bethania garage (.com), $100/ pr.

Alex,
One thought would be buy a ($55 ea. AFCO) set of the MII's as Jack21 said and cut the inside ends off at your radii required, weld in 5/8" threaded inserts and install 5/8" threaded Heim type joints.
The trouble with the MII adjustable upper shaft arms they tend to be too wide in the chassis mounting points relative to the lower arms making the lowers grow in mounting location points to 14" or so. One of the very reasons that Heidts came out with the "super ride" lowers for their old style uppers.
Your spindle choice will dictate most of your requirements anyway.

Yes, you are correct in saying that if I had a kit itwould have the pickup points already welded in place. That would be a very easy project.
I have built my chassis like the original, .120 4" tubing. (Lots of work).
I liked the design because the round tubing design makes for a very rigid frame.
I am at the point of collecting the needed parts and designing the front geometery before I weld the pickup points but wanted to incorporate adjustable upper control arms in my design.
It will be a 90" WB car.
Thank you for the help.
Cobracer.
